PARC MINUTES:  MEETING  FEBRUARY 3, 2015

 

 

Meeting called to order at 1900 followed by the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag

 

Attendance:  4 Club Officers

                     11 Persons

Treasurers Report presented by Jimmy T, Treasurer:  Balance as of January 6th  $2471.84.

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

Meeting with Wayne Wright to discuss repeater pairs set for Feburary 7th at Dunn Brothers Coffee Shop

 

Winter Field Day was held at Galveston Island State Park.  3 Club members participated .  An OCFD was erected along with a vertical antenna.  The station was on the air by 1200 noon.  50 contacts were made on 20m.with many states being worked.  Brian Seabolt and family along with Jan and Harvey came by for a visit.  Consensus was to try again next yeaar.

 

Nominating Committee is to report back at the March meeting with a proposed slate of new club officers.

 

Consideration is still being given toward the purchase of a Digital Projector for the Club.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

The Multi-Club Tailgate Sale has been scheduled for Saturday April 25th at the parking lot of the Pasadena School District Administrative building at the corner of the Belt Way 8 and Pasadena Blvd also between Red Bluff and Pasadena Blvd.

 

The Club's participation in the Great Escape Bike Ride was discussed, however,  it has since been canceled due to road construction along the route.

 

Summer Field Day ( Weekend June 27 & 28, 2015.  Event to be held at the VFW hall in Pearland.  More discussion to take place as the event draws near.

Motion to once again use the VFW Hall was made, MTA Jerry N5JV 2nd Calvin KR5E.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

 

 

Discussion of Skywarn Training Meeting to be held in conjunction with the next PARC regular meeting on March 3, 2015, on the U of H Pearland campus  1200 Pearland Parkway.  The meeting will start at 1830 with the Skywarn program starting at 1900.  The event will be held in the Training Room of the main building.
