Minutes for March 1, 2011

19 Members present.

Meeting called to order @7:03pm by President Bob Nicholas

followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

Minutes of February meeting approved.  A motion to accept by

Mark Duncan & 2^nd by Ralph Fellows.   Motion carried.

Treasury report was given by Jimmy T.

Starting balance of $1924.20.  Deposits of $41.

Expenses of  $200 for VFW for Field Day.  Last year it was $300.

Ending balance of $1765.20

Motion to accept by Maggie Sanders & 2^nd by Ann Zimmer.  Motion carried.

Committee Reports:          Activity Committee

Bob reviewed the activity calendar for March and April:

BVAAR ham fest is March 5 & Rayne Ham Fest is March 12.

Skywarn training @ the Church of Christ (same as meeting location) is March 22.

The Great Escape is Sunday, March 13.  Our club provides radio communication for this ride.

We need cars with radios to man 5 rest stops.  Bob asked for volunteers & 7 were received.

They will meet at Manvel High School, 19601 Hwy 6, on the McCoy Street side at 6am.

Belton Ham Fest is April 2

Windom Antenna building party will be April 9 @ David Smith’s house @ 9am. 

Meet for Breakfast @ 8.  Place to be announced later.

The joint 3 club Tailgate Sale is April 30 @ Summit High School on Beltway 8.

MS150 bike ride to Austin is April 16 & 17.

Antenna Committee:  nothing to report. 

Birthdays: Billy Williamson, Marsha Shaner, Jerry Venable, Ronnie Zabawa, Maggie Sanders & Cody Haley.

Old Business:   Election Committee member Maggie Sanders said so far it will be the same slate of officers.  No one has expressed any interest for running. 

New Business:  None.

This & That:  Jimmy said that he has updated the web site.

Needs & Prayer Request:   David Smith has been in the hospital.

Meet & Eat: Tuesday, April 5, 2011 will be at Kelley’s on FM 518

Drawing: Won by Jerry Venable .  Brought in $34.
